You are always welcome to bring your potential Scout to a Pack Meeting or den meeting as a guest before registering. It's a great way to meet our leaders, see what a meeting looks like, and decide if Pack 972 feels like the right fit.

No pressure, no commitment — just come and see what we're all about. Check our Events page for the next upcoming meeting and show up! We'll save you a seat.

And once you're ready to join, we'll be with you every step of the way. Signing up your Scout is done online through Scouting America's official registration system. It takes about 10–15 minutes and can be done from any phone or computer. Just follow these steps:

Step 1 — Go to BeAScout.org
Head to beascout.scouting.org and enter your ZIP code where prompted. Click the Cub Scouts button to see a list of local packs in your area.

Step 2 — Find Pack 972
Look for "Pack 0972 Friends of Beach Community" on the list of local packs and click the APPLY NOW button next to our pack name.

Step 3 — Choose the Youth Application
Click on the Youth application button and follow the on-screen instructions to complete your Scout's registration.

Step 4 — Create Your My.Scouting.org Account
If your family is new to Scouting, the application will prompt you to set up a parent or guardian account at My.Scouting.org. You will create a unique username and password — make sure to save these somewhere safe!

Your My.Scouting.org account will be your home base for:

🔄 Annual membership renewal
🛡 Youth Protection Training and other safety courses
👤 Adult volunteer applications (if you decide to become a leader down the road)
📊 Accessing Scoutbook Plus to track your Scout's badge and rank progress

Step 5 — Complete Payment
Follow the prompts to complete the payment portion of the application. Annual registration fees are set by Scouting America and cover your Scout's national membership for the year.

Step 6 — Watch for Your Confirmation Email
After submitting your application you will receive a confirmation email with your Scout's unique ID number. Please keep a record of this ID number along with your My.Scouting.org username and password — you will need them throughout your Scout's journey with Pack 972!
