The Cub Scout Uniform
It's just a shirt, right? Not quite. At Pack 972, we believe the Cub Scout uniform is one of the most powerful tools in the entire Scouting program — not because of how it looks, but because of what it means. Here's why we ask every Scout to wear it with pride.
When every Scout walks into a Pack Meeting wearing their uniform, something remarkable happens — they stop being individuals and become part of a team. The uniform is a visible, powerful reminder that no Scout is alone. For many kids — especially those who are shy, new to the group, or still finding their footing — the uniform is an equalizer. It doesn't matter what school you go to, what neighborhood you live in, or what your family looks like. In uniform, every Scout belongs equally.
We understand that getting a Scout dressed and out the door in full uniform isn't always easy — especially on a busy weeknight. But we encourage every family to make the effort as often as possible, because the habit of wearing the uniform is itself part of the lesson.
What's Required:
A cub scout shirt and belt is required to be worn at all Pack and Den meetings and encouraged to be worn at other events and outings. A Cascade Pacific Council shoulder patch and the numbers 9, 7, 2 should also be purchased and sewn on the left shoulder. Neckerchiefs, hats and pants are optional.
